STRATEGI BERTANYA NAJWA SHIHAB DALAM PROGRAM MATA NAJWA EPISODE NARASI EKSKLUSIF “PRABOWO SUBIANTO BICARA” (KAJIAN PRAGMATIK) ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk strategi bertanya yang digunakan Najwa Shihab dalam wawancara Narasi Eksklusif: Prabowo Subianto Bicara pada program Mata Najwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan data berupa tuturan pertanyaan Najwa Shihab kepada Prabowo Subianto. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode simak bebas cakap dan teknik catat dengan sumber data berupa tayangan wawancara pada kanal YouTube Najwa Shihab. Data dianalisis dengan mengidentifikasi tuturan pertanyaan sebagai tindak tutur direktif, kemudian mengklasifikasikannya berdasarkan strategi bertanya serta memperhatikan konteks penggunaannya. Hasil penelitian terhadap 64 tuturan pertanyaan menunjukkan adanya lima strategi bertanya, yaitu Open Question sebanyak 17 data, Closed Question sebanyak 20 data, Probing Question sebanyak 6 data, Clarification Question sebanyak 11 data, dan Leading Question sebanyak 10 data. Open Question merupakan strategi yang paling banyak digunakan, sedangkan Probing Question paling sedikit ditemukan. Kelima strategi tersebut digunakan secara kontekstual untuk memperoleh, menggali, memperjelas, dan mengarahkan informasi selama proses wawancara. Dengan demikian, penggunaan strategi bertanya Najwa Shihab menunjukkan variasi tuturan pertanyaan sebagai tindak tutur direktif dalam mendukung proses penggalian dan pengembangan informasi dalam wawancara.

Chronic Kidney Disease, penyakit kronis yang memerlukan hemodialisis jangka panjang dan berdampak pada family caregiver. Tuntutan perawatan berkelanjutan dapat menimbulkan beban finansial, fisik, sosial, emosional, dan perawatan, serta diperlukan strategi koping yang adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi burden family caregiver dan strategi koping family caregiver pasien Chronic Kidney Disease yang menjalani hemodialisis. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan desain cross sectional deskriptif. Kuesioner Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI) digunakan untuk mengukur burden family caregiver dan kuesioner Brief Cope digunakan untuk mengukur strategi koping family caregiver. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 133 responden yang mendampingi pasien hemodialisis dan dipilih menggunakan teknik total sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden mengalami burden ringan sebanyak 84 responden (63,2%) dan strategi koping yang paling banyak digunakan yaitu emotion-focused coping dengan nilai median 24 (minimum 13 dan maksimum 34). Sebagian besar family caregiver pasien Chronic Kidney Disease yang menjalani hemodialisis mengalami burden pada tingkat ringan dan cenderung menggunakan emotion-focused coping sebagai strategi utama dalam menghadapi tuntutan perawatan jangka panjang.

Mahasiswa rantau menghadapi berbagai tantangan adaptasi, seperti tekanan akademik, perubahan lingkungan, dan keterbatasan dukungan sosial, yang dapat menurunkan kemampuan penyesuaian diri. Strategi koping yang efektif diperlukan agar mahasiswa mampu mempertahankan resiliensi dalam menghadapi situasi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara strategi koping dengan resiliensi pada mahasiswa rantau di Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 1.211 responden, dengan sampel berjumlah 300 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling dan instrumen berupa kuesioner strategi koping (Brief-COPE) serta kuesioner resiliensi (CD-RISC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa rantau Universitas Borneo Tarakan, mayoritas berjenis kelamin perempuan dan berasal dari Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan. Sebagian besar menggunakan strategi koping adaptif (80,7%), sementara tingkat resiliensi terbagi merata antara kategori tinggi dan rendah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara strategi koping dan tingkat resiliensi (p = 0,001). Mahasiswa yang menggunakan strategi koping adaptif cenderung memiliki resiliensi tinggi, sedangkan mereka yang menggunakan strategi koping maladaptif lebih banyak menunjukkan resiliensi rendah. Dengan demikian, penggunaan strategi koping adaptif berperan penting dalam meningkatkan resiliensi mahasiswa rantau di Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Migrant students face various adaptation challenges, including academic pressure, environmental changes, and limited social support, which may reduce their ability to adjust effectively. Effective coping strategies are therefore required to enable students to maintain resilience in dealing with these challenges. This study aimed to examine the relationship between coping strategies and resilience among migrant students at Universitas Borneo Tarakan. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. The study population consisted of 1,211 respondents, with a sample of 300 respondents selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Brief COPE questionnaire to assess coping strategies and the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) to measure resilience. The results showed that the majority of migrant students at Universitas Borneo Tarakan were female and predominantly enrolled in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Most participants employed adaptive coping strategies (80.7%), while levels of resilience were evenly distributed between high and low categories. The findings demonstrated a significant relationship between coping strategies and resilience levels (p = 0.001). Students who employed adaptive coping strategies tended to exhibit higher resilience, whereas those who relied on maladaptive coping strategies were more likely to demonstrate lower resilience. These findings indicate that the use of adaptive coping strategies plays an important role in enhancing resilience among migrant students at Universitas Borneo Tarakan. This study aims to analyze students’ difficulties in understanding TOEFL-like Reading, a reading test designed based on the TOEFL ITP format and implemented in the Borneo English Test (BET), among students of the English Education Department at Universitas Borneo Tarakan. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design involving 28 students from the 2020 cohort. Data were collected through document analysis of BET scores, questionnaires, and interviews. The document analysis revealed that most students were classified at the A1 and A2 levels, while only three students reached the B1 level based on the CEFR, and none achieved the B2 or C1 levels. These findings indicate a low level of students’ academic reading competence. The results of the questionnaires and interviews revealed that the main difficulties experienced by students included limited vocabulary, low inferential ability, difficulties in answering detail and unstated detail questions, and limited background knowledge. In addition, time constraints and text complexity further hindered reading comprehension. To cope with these difficulties, students tended to use strategies such as identifying the meanings of unfamiliar vocabulary, rereading texts, and practicing with TOEFL-like materials, while systematic reading strategies such as skimming and scanning were still rarely applied. This study concludes that vocabulary mastery and the effective use of reading strategies play an important role in improving students’ performance in TOEFL-like Reading.

The Critical and Extensive Reading course was designed to provide participants with a systematic approach to enhancing comprehension and analysis of diverse reading materials. This study focused on the students to develop essential critical, analytical, and reflective reading skills applicable across academic and professional contexts. The primary aim of the course was to equip students with the ability to read with deep comprehension, identify key arguments within texts, evaluate supporting evidence, and formulate critical responses to the ideas presented. Emphasis was placed on fostering the capacity to appreciate multiple perspectives, assess source credibility, and grasp the social, cultural, and historical contexts underpinning texts. Various reading techniques, including Scaffolding, QARs, and Reciprocal Teaching were employed alongside analysis strategies such as note- taking, questioning, and argument formulation. Collaborative activities such as group discussions, debates, and collaborative projects were integrated to broaden understanding of diverse topics and enhance students' skills in articulating and defending their viewpoints. By combining theoretical insights with practical applications, this course provided a robust foundation for students to develop more effective reading abilities and navigate the complexities of a modern world saturated with diverse and often conflicting information.

The objective of this study was to analyze the reading strategies employed by eighth-grade students at SMPN 11 Tarakan. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with the subjects being eighth-grade students at SMPN 11 Tarakan. A total sampling technique was used to select the sample of this research, with a sample size of 83 students. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and interviews. To analyze the data, the researcher employed the three-step process from Miles and Huberman: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the study indicated that there were three reading strategies most frequently used by the students such as questioning (88%), searching & selecting (86%), and visualizing & organizing (82%). Based on these results, it can be concluded that questioning is the most dominant reading strategy that students apply. Conversely, the strategy generally not used by students was monitoring and clarifying (35%).

The study analyses students' speaking anxiety in English classes during the second semester at Borneo University Tarakan. The study examines the factors that influence students' speaking anxiety and strategies to overcome their anxiety based on the student's experiences. This study analyses students' speaking anxiety in English classes during the second semester at Borneo University Tarakan. The study examines the factors that influence students' speaking anxiety and strategies to overcome their anxiety based on the student's experiences. The study identified two factors contributing to language learning difficulties: internal factors such as shyness, lack of confidence, and fear of making mistakes; and external factors such as limited vocabulary and lack of peer interaction. This study presents two strategies (preparation and relaxation) to help students overcome speaking anxiety and improve their speaking performance. It is important to acknowledge that speaking anxiety can hinder students' ability to speak, and therefore, strategies are necessary to alleviate this issue.

The aim of this study was to determine how the implementation of reading comprehension strategies in the classroom and what reading comprehension strategies teachers use. This study used the descriptive qualitative method which is used by English teachers at SMPN 10 Tarakan by using document, observation, and interview data which are analyzed qualitatively using coding. The results showed that the teacher used two strategies namely Scaffolding and QARS (Question- Answer Relationship). Scaffolding provides assistance to students' reading skills while QARS provides students' understanding of the reading text.

This study investigated studens diticulties in speaking Engish in EFL and the strategies students use to overcome these dificulties The research data was obtained using a qualitative descriptive method The fiflh-semester students from the English Education Depariment were selected as the informants usinga purposive sampling technique. Research data was collected by interviewing students with in-depth semi-structured interviews. The results of this study indicated that students experience difficulties in speaking English. The first factor was social culture; 1) family involvement, 2) student living environment, and 3) peer involvement. The second factor is psychological; 4) feeling afraid, and 5) feeling ashamed. The third factor was linguistics; 6) local dialect, 7) word pronunciation, 8) grammar knowledge, 9) vocabulary, and 10) filler. The fourth factor was general knowledge, including 11) world/ topic knowledge, 12. limited study time and 13) need for understanding, Student strategies to overcome these difficulties included taking English courses, using English as daily communication, making dialogues with family/peers, attending an English community, practicing speaking through online games, reading tongue twisters, preparing material earlier, and looking for material from the intemnet/leamning websites. This study implied that having good speaking is affected by the social environment, motivation, language proficiency, and world knowledge. Besides, it requires effective leamning strategies to make an improvement.

The purpose of this study was to describe the learning strategies used by the teachers in teaching reading comprehension of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Tarakan and to determine their reading comprehension ability. The subjects of this study were the English teachers and 31 students of class VIII-9 in the 2020/2021 learning year. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. Data were obtained through interviews, observations and questionnaires. This research was conducted online during the Covid-19 pandemic using teaching-learning applications. The results showed that the learning strategy used by the teacher in teaching reading comprehension was SQ3R (Surveying, Questioning, Reading, Reciting, and Reviewing). The strategy used by the teacher was effective, because the students not only knew how to understand a text but it also helped students to be more active and critical in understanding the contents of the reading text. It was also found that there were two other methods used in the learning process, namely listening to videos and giving assignments. This methods were used because of the covid-19 pandemic situation, so the teaching and learning activities were carried out online using the Quipper and WhatsApp applications to form online class groups before starting teaching and learning. The results also showed that the level of students' reading comprehension ability in English was average. This was Influenced by several factors originating from students, teachers, and facilities. In conclusion, the learning strategy used by the teacher was effective in improving reading comprehension skills of class VIII-9 students of SMPN 4 Tarakan.

The purpose of this study was to improve mastery of English vocabulary by applying index card installation strategies in the learning proses of seventh grade students at the SMP Nasional Plus Indo Tionghoa Tarakan. This study used a classroom action research (CAR) method. The method consist of two cycles and each cycle consist of three meetings. The study was conducted from February 5 to 21, 2020 at the school. All the 32 seventh grade students consisted of 16 males and 16 females were used as research subject. Data were collected through an observation list sheet to observe the learning process and a vocabulary test to check students' vocabulary mastery. The result showed that the students' success in the observation list was 91% for teacher and 87% for students in the second cycle. This proved that index card installation strategies were able to improve the mastery of English vocabulary of seventh grade students at the SMP Nasional Plus Indo Tionghoa Tarakan.
