Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which primarily affects the respiratory system, particularly the lungs. Treatment for tuberculosis necessitates a prolonged duration, thereby requiring patients to demonstrate consistent adherence to the prescribed treatment regimen. The act of adhering to the prescribed medication regimen for patients afflicted with tuberculosis is delineated as the consistent ingestion of medications during the stipulated treatment duration, which is a minimum of six months or more. The purpose of the research was to describe the medication adherence among tuberculosis patients at the Public Health Center X. This research is quantitative research with a descriptive cross-sectional approach. The research population consisted of 118 respondents, with a sample of 91 respondents. The sampling technique used was purpose sampling. The research instrument was the Medication Adherence Report Scale (MARS) questionnaire. The majority of respondents' medication adherence was in the high adherence range, with 87 respondents (95.0%), and 4 respondents (4.4%) had moderate adherence. The results of the research showed that the level of medication adherence among tuberculosis patients at Public Health Center X was high. This high level of adherence contributed to an increase in the cure rate and a decrease in the risk of recurrence and drug resistance. These findings provide a basis for further research on tuberculosis treatment adherence at Public Health Center X in Tarakan City.
