Vocabulary is considered one of the important aspects in learning English as a foreign language because it supports students in understanding and using the language effectively. However, many students still experience difficulties in developing their vocabulary. This study was conducted to determine whether a blended learning approach can improve the vocabulary of tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Tarakan. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test and post-test pre-experimental design. A total of 35 students from Class X-A participated in this study. Data were obtained through a vocabulary test conducted before and after the implementation of the blended learning approach. The research results were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with SPSS version 16.0. The analysis showed an improvement in students' vocabulary performance, indicated by a higher average score on the post-test compared to the pre-test. Furthermore, the normality test conducted on the difference scores between the pre-test and post-test showed that the data were normally distributed. Therefore, a paired t-test was used to examine the presence of a significant difference in students' vocabulary scores before and after the implementation of the blended learning approach. The paired sample t-test results showed a p-value of 0.000, which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. In addition, the N-Gain analysis indicated that the improvement is classified in the moderate category. Overall, these findings affirm that the blended learning approach contributes significantly to the enhancement of vocabulary among tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Tarakan.

Community Language Learning is a method where the teacher becomes a counsellor in the classroom, so that the relationship between teacher and students is more towards the practice of English in the classroom. The purpose of this study is to improve students' English-speaking skills by using the Community Language Learning method in the eighth grade of SMP N 10 Tarakan and to describe students' responses related to the use of the method. This study used Classroom Action Research design consisting of two cycles and each cycle had four meetings, and involved 25 students of class VIII - 4. The research data were obtained from observation data, interviews and students' speaking test results. The data were analyzed qualitatively by using descriptive statistics and qualitatively by thematic analysis. The results showed that in the first cycle students who scored above the KKM were 44% of the total students and for the second cycle it increased by 84% of the total number of students. The challenges in using the community language learning method are: teacher and student readiness, teaching media and evaluation of students' speaking ability due to limited time allocation conditions. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab kenaikan kadar asam lemak bebas, kadar air dan kadar kotoran yang melebihi standar untuk mengatasi permasalahan yaitu dengan menggunakan metode Six Sigma melalui tahapan pendekatan DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data yang telah dilakukan mendefinisikan masalah standar kualitas dalam proses produksi dan berdasarkan perhitungan nilai Sigma, rata-rata tingkat Sigma 3,264 dengan kemungkinan kerusakan sebesar 27.503,3 untuk sejuta kali proses produksi (DPMO). Adapun perhitungan dengan diagram pareto yang memiliki nilai persentase yaitu kadar asam lemak bebas 0,86%, kadar air 0,13%, dan kadar kotoran 0,02%. Berdasarkan pengendalian kualitas bisa dikatakan bahwa perusahaan cukup memberikan manfaat dalam upaya mengurangi kegagalan produk akan tetapi belum maksimal. Sehingga perlu disarankan perusahaan meningkatkan kapabilitas Sigma dan meningkatkan proses dengan cara melakukan perbaikan terhadap mesin, bahan baku, metode serta pembinaan dan pengawasan kerja karyawan.
