English learning media in elementary schools plays an important role in supporting the English language teaching process for young learners. This research aimed to develop augmented reality-based flashcards for vocabulary learning for fifth-grade students at SDN 010 Tarakan. This was a research and development study using the 4D model, consisting of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The research instruments used included student needs questionnaires, interview guides for teachers, expert validation questionnaires for content and media, media usability questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The results of the needs analysis questionnaire and interviews with teachers indicated that vocabulary learning media were highly needed by students in their English language learning. The designed product consisted of flashcards featuring vocabulary related to parts of the body, hobbies, and things in school, in accordance with the students' needs. The developed media were then validated in terms of content and media before being pilot-tested on 12 fifth-grade students at SDN 010 Tarakan. The research results revealed that the level of suitability and practicality of the media, based on the following assessments, were as follows: 1) validation by a media expert yielded a score of 93.7%, classified as “highly applicable”; 2) validation by a content expert yielded a score of 96.3%, classified as “highly applicable”; 3) 97.1% of English language teaching practitioners rated the material as “highly practical.” Student responses to this learning material following the pilot test were positive, with a score of 91% of the total possible score. Accordingly, it can be concluded that the development of augmented reality-based flashcard learning materials for fifth-grade students at SDN 010 Tarakan was deemed highly feasible and highly practical for use. Speaking activities in the English Club provide students with opportunities to practice using English communicatively outside of classroom instruction. However, the effectiveness of these activities requires supplementary teaching materials appropriate to students’ needs. Therefore, this research aimed to identify students’ needs in English Club speaking activities, develop supplementary speaking materials, and evaluate its quality and validity. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Four D (4D) development model. The teaching materials were developed using the 4D model, which consists of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages; however, this study was limited to the Define, Design, and Develop stages. The study participants consisted of 20 students from SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan. Data were collected through a needs analysis questionnaire, interviews, expert validation, a teacher feedback questionnaire, and a student feedback questionnaire. The results of the needs analysis indicated that students’ speaking skills were still limited and that they experienced difficulties with vocabulary, grammar, sentence formation, pronunciation, and self-confidence. Students preferred familiar topics, multimedia-based activities, pronunciation exercises, games, collaborative activities, and conversation-based speaking tasks. Based on these results, an interactive digital e-worksheet was developed using Canva, featuring videos, quizzes, pronunciation exercises, partner conversations, interviews, speaking presentations, and reflection activities. The final product consisted of three unit topics: Daily Life, Hobbies, and School Life. The content expert validation yielded a score of 98.95% (highly appropriate), while the media expert validation yielded a score of 77.65% (appropriate). Teacher and student responses scored 98.10% and 81.07%, respectively, both of which fall into the highly appropriate category. Therefore, the developed E-Worksheet has been considered appropriate and suitable to be used as supplementary teaching material to support English Club activities at SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan.

This study was motivated by the lack of engaging learning media in Pancasila Education lessons on rights and responsibilities for fourth-grade elementary school students. The lecture method, which is still frequently used, results in students being less actively engaged, quickly becoming bored, and having difficulty understanding the difference between rights and responsibilities. Additionally, the use of learning media in the classroom is still limited to simple PowerPoint presentations. The objectives of this study were to determine the level of suitability through validation by subject matter experts, media experts, language experts, and practitioners, and to assess students' responses to the appeal of the quartet card learning media. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model, which includes the steps of definition, design, development, and dissemination. Due to time constraints, this study was limited to the development stage. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results showed that the quartet card learning media achieved a feasibility rate of 94% among subject matter experts, media experts, and language experts, and 100% among practitioners, meeting the "highly feasible" criterion. Student responses in the limited pilot test yielded a rate of 95.5%, and in the field test, 93%, both meeting the "highly engaging" criterion.
