HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG DIARE DENGAN PERILAKU PENANGANAN DIARE PADA ANAK BALITA DI PUSKESMAS SEBENGKOK KOTA TARAKAN
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER'S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DIARRHEA WITH THE BEHAVIOR OF HANDLING DIARRHEA IN TODDLERS UNDER TODDLER AT SEBENGKOK PUSKESMAS CITY OF TARAKAN ABSTRACT Background: Diarrhea is a condition in which individuals experience defecation with a frequency of 3 or more per day with the consistency of stools in liquid form. This is usually a symptom of a gastrointestinal infection, which is caused by a variety of bacteria, viruses and parasites. Severe diarrhea causes loss of fluids, and can cause death, especially in children and people who are malnourished or have compromised immunity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mother's knowledge about diarrhea with the behavior of handling diarrhea in toddlers under toddler at Sebengkok Puskesmas City of Tarakan. Research Method: The research design used in this research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were mothers who brought their children who had diarrhea and a sample of 30 respondents using purposive sampling with SPSS Spearman rho analysis. Research Results: From the study, most of them had less knowledge as many as 10 people (33%). The behavior of mothers in handling diarrhea in children under five at the Sebengkok Health Center, Tarakan City, mostly had good behavior, namely 18 people (60%) where there was a significant relationship between mother's knowledge and mother's behavior, p = 0,0020,05. Discussion: Based on the results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and mother's behavior in handling diarrhea in toddlers in the working area of the Sebengkok Health Center, Tarakan City, p = 0.002.
