This study aims to investigate the influence of group guidance on students'learning independence. Learning independence refers to the self-directed attitude towards personal learning awareness and all decisions and considerations related to learning activities. The indicators of learning independence include self-confidence, responsibility, initiative, and self-control. Group guidance is one of the efforts that can be implemented by counseling teachers in schools, and it has an impact on students' learning independence. This research employs a pre-experimental approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study consists of 247 students. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling,resulting in a sample size of 20 students. The data analysis employed descriptive and inferential statistics, utilizing the paired samples test with SPSS version 27.0 for Windows. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the significance value is (0.000 0.005), indicating that there is a significant influence of group guidance on students' learning independence at SMP Negeri 3Tarakan.

The purpose of this stidu was to determine the role of counseling teachers in improving student learning independence at SMPN 10 Tarakan this study used qualitative reseach with a descriptive approach and research informants consisting of 2 people including counseling teachers and classroom teachers. data collection techniques in this study were interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques were data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the research showed that the role of counseling teachers at SMPN 10 Tarakan in increasing student learning independence was carried out through (1) identification of problems where counseling teachers search for problems by distributing questionnaires of need; (2) prognosis was made to find the causative or underlying factors of the students` problem; (3) prognosis was carried out to predict the possibilites that occur based om the data available at the diagnosis; (4) service delivery; carried out to carry out service in accordance with the student`s problem; (5) evaluation was carried out to review the result of service activities; and (6) follow-up was carried out to follow up on the activities that have been carried out.

The Effect of Learning Independence and Learning Creativity on English Learning achievement at the Eight Class of SMPN 1 Lumbis Abstract The purpose of this study was to see whether there was a link between learning independence, learning creativity, and English learning achievement at the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Lumbis. The method utilized by the researcher was a quantitative survey. The population of eighth grade students at SMPN 1 Lumbis was 168 students. A random selection procedure was employed to select 118 students from five classes, and the Slovin formula was utilized to pick student representatives from each class. Questionnaires and interviews were used to gather information. The results of the survey were analyzed using descriptive and inferential approaches. The major inferential analysis was multiple linear regression. The data from the interview was analyzed using content-based analysis. There were three findings: (1) Learning independence had a positive effect on English achievement where the probability value was less than the significance level (0.000 0.05), (2) Learning creativity did not have a positive effect on English achievement where the probability value was greater than the significance level (0.141 > 0.05), and (3) Learning independence and creativity at the same time had a favorable impact on English learning achievement where the probability value was less than the significance level (0.000 0.05) and had a 30.5% contribution to English achievement. Other factors that affected students' English learning achievement included a lack of online learning facilities, such as unstable internet connections and internet data packages, as well as a lack of learning creativity to solve problems in learning English, as seen at students who did not master one or more skills.
