The development of information technology encourages the use of electronic documents and electronic signatures in various transactions. The purpose of this study is to examine the validity of electronic signatures in Indonesia from a juridical perspective, focusing on existing regulations, namely Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) which was amended by Law Number 19 of 2016, as well as Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019. Based on the results of this study, the author concludes that this study aims to show that electronic signatures that meet the legal requirements are recognized as valid and equivalent to conventional signatures. However, there are still challenges in terms of security and public acceptance. There needs to be increased regulation, legal awareness, and technological infrastructure to support its effective use. Conclusions from this study, the author concludes that electronic signatures in Indonesia have legal validity in accordance with the ITE Law and its implementing regulations. Eligible electronic signatures are considered valid and have the same legal force as conventional signatures. Nonetheless, challenges such as security issues, technical validity, and acceptance by the community remain. Efforts to improve regulations, legal awareness, and technological infrastructure are needed to support the wider and effective use of electronic signatures in Indonesia.
