KEANEKARAGAMAN JAMUR MAKROSKOPIS DI KAWASAN HUTAN PENELITIAN UNIVERSITAS BORNEO TARAKAN DAN ANALISIS KETERKAITANNYA DENGAN PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI

2025•Skripsi, Thesis, Disertasi, dan Tugas Akhir

Macroscopic fungi are a group of fungi that are relatively large in size, easily visible to the naked eye, can be held and picked, and typically thrive in moist environments rich in organic matter. Their growth is influenced by shaded conditions and high humidity, such as in the Research Forest of Borneo Tarakan University. This area, characterized by dense and large trees, allows minimal sunlight to reach the forest floor, creating a damp microclimate conducive to vigorous fungal growth. Considering the impact of land-use changes on forest ecosystem structure, this study aimed to investigate the diversity and dominance of fungi within the area. This quantitative research employed an exploratory survey method with purposive sampling, focusing on moist habitats favored by fungi. Morphological observations were conducted using identification keys. Samples were collected from 20 plots each measuring 15x15 meters, resulting in 2,020 individual fungi identified across 13 families and 30 species. The calculated diversity index was 1.757, indicating a moderate level of diversity, while the dominance index was 0.276, suggesting low dominance. Environmental conditions in the study area were within the optimal range for fungal growth. The findings of this study can be integrated into biology learning, particularly within Basic Competencies 3.7 and 4.7 of the Grade X 2013 Curriculum. This competency requires students to be able to group fungi based on morphological characteristics and understand the role of fungi in various aspects of daily life.

IDENTIFIKASI KEANEKARAGAMAN GASTROPODA DI PESISIR BARAT DAN TIMUR PULAU TARAKAN DAN POTENSINYA SEBAGAI BAHAN AJAR PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI DAN POTENSINYA SEBAGAI BAHAN AJAR PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI

2024•

Tarakan is an island in northern Indonesia with an area of 657.33 km2 and has a coastal area consisting of mangrove forests and beach areas. This study assessed the diversity of gastropods on Tarakan Island’s west and east coasts. The research was conducted in three research locations, namely (1) KKMB, (2) Mamburugan, and (3) Amal Beach, using a quantitative approach with a random sampling method. The results showed that there were 35 species of gastropods belonging to 12 families, where the diversity index at there research sites ranged from 2.658-1.597 belonging to the medium category, the uniformity index at three research sites obtained the axact value of 1,000 which indicates that the ecosystem as in a relatively stable condition, the dominance index at first and second research sites ranged from 0.430-0.325 (medium category) and at third research sites of 0.117 (low category). The highest abundance value at the first research site was 0.314 ind/m2, namely the Assimenia brevican species; at the second research site, it was 0.403 ind/m2, namely the Cerithium corallum spesies; and at the third research site,, it was 0.001 ind/m2, namely the Clithon castaneus species. The results of this study have the potential as teaching material for biology learning at the high school level class X on Animalia subject matter, including for the college level invertebrate study as well as other related materials.
