Perlakuan jenis kemasan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap sifat fisik buah tomat, yaitu pada parameter kadar air penyimpanan hari ke-5dan ke-10.Dan perlakuan kombinasai konsentrasi pencelupan asam sitrat dan jenis kemasan (SK) tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap sifat fisik buah tomat di semua umur penyimpanan Tomatoes are classified as climacteric fruits, meaning they undergo a rapid ripening phase followed by increased ethylene production, which leads to softening and changes in color and taste. The softening of tomatoes is related to changes in the pectin fraction within the cell walls. Inhibiting this softening process is essential to maintain the quality and shelf life of tomatoes. One way to delay softening is through citric acid application and the use of appropriate packaging. This study aimed to determine the effect of citric acid dipping and different types of packaging on the physical properties and shelf life of tomatoes during 15 days of storage. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was citric acid concentration, consisting of three treatments: S0 = 0%, S1 = 1%, and S2 = 2%. The second factor was packaging type, consisting of K1 = uncovered styrofoam, K2 = bamboo basket, K3 = coconut leaves, and K4 = paper. Observed parameters included moisture content, vitamin C, weight loss, and fruit firmness. The results showed that dipping treatments with 1% (S1) and 2% (S2) citric acid had significant effects on tomato physical properties. These effects were observed in moisture content on days 5 to 15, vitamin C from day 0 to day 15, and weight loss on days 5, 10, and 15. A significant effect on fruit firmness was observed on days 10 and 15. The type of packaging also significantly influenced the physical properties of tomatoes, particularly in moisture content on days 5 and 10. However, the combination of citric acid concentration and packaging type did not significantly affect the physical properties of tomatoes at any storage duration

EFIKASI DUA MEREK BIOPESTISIDA BERBAHAN AKTIF TRICHODERMA DALAM MENGENDALIKAN PENYAKIT LAYU FUSARIUM PADA TANAMAN TOMAT

2022•Skripsi, Thesis, Disertasi, dan Tugas Akhir

Tomato plants are commodities with good market opportunities and are widely planted by farmers. Loss of production of tomato plants can be caused by pathogen attack, one of the pathogen that attack tomato plants is the fungus Fusarium oxysporum. The control technique was biological control using biological agents such as Trichoderma. This research was conducted to determine the dose of two brands of biopesticides with active ingredients, Trichoderma, which effectively controls F.oxysporum wilt disease in tomato plants. This research was conducted by researcher in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Borneo Tarakan. This research was a one-factor study with a total of 5 trearments which were repeated fivve times with 3 sample plants for each replication. The treatments were B0 = Control, B1 = 2.5 g MaxTri-G per plant, B2 = 5 g MaxTri-G per plant, B3 = 2.5 g Trico-Z per plant, and B4 = 5 g Trico-Z per plant. The data obtained were analysed by variance and futher tested with the smallest significant difference test at 5% level. The results showed the Trichoderma treatment could suppress the intensity of F.oxysporum disease up to 62.4% (B1) and maintain maximum plant damage of 15 leaves with a leaf damage percentage of 68% (B1). Therefore, the plants could still produce up to 6.20 leaves and many fruits with an average weight of 50.69 grams.
