Abstract Steel frame structure of onshore (derrick) crude oil drilling was numerously found in the mining areas of Kampong I, Kampong IV, and Kampong VI. The derrick construction age has caused many corroded structural elements, so that some frame structural elements were missing. The wind speed in Tarakan was relatively high and eventually influenced various towering steel frame constructions. This research analyzed the tower structure considered incomplete based on SNI 1729-2015. The Allowable Stress Design (ASD) and Load Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) have been performed in this research. To include the combination, SNI 1727 2013 was provided in this research focusing on wind load through the utilization of derrick prototype modelling with 3D-numeric frame elements based on element method to the utilization of SAP2000 software. The tower structural models are classified into to 2 models consisting of complete and incomplete tower model. The incompleted tower model consisted of 3 representatives equipped with the tower structure prototype in Tarakan. Each tower structure was respectively available in Kampong I, Kampong IV, and Kampong VI. Three derrick models have been differentiated based on the missing element number. The research result show that the capacity of incomplete tower structures (IDM-K1, IDM-K4, and IDM-K6) should be adequately strong to receive wind load combinations. The descreasing pull rod capacity was due to the descreasing number of losing braced elements which were more significant when compared to the descreasing press rod capacity.
