STUDENTS PERCEPTION TOWARD THE USE OF ENGLISH ONLINE LEARNING IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL MUHAMMADIYAH TARAKAN
The purpose of this study was to find out the student perceptions of English online learning on reading and writing skills at eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah Tarakan. This research was a descriptive qualitative research with the method used was a survey method. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, interviews and documentation. In this study, there were 72 students who filled out the questionnaire and 12 students who representative from each class were interviewed. From the percentage of students’ understanding about online learning, there were 65.8% of students understand about English online learning. However, the student achievement in reading and writing skills was different. Student achievement that stands out was only in writing skills, meanwhile the student reading skills was not developed. It was affected by some factors such as network or internet quotas and lack communication between friends or teachers.
