PENGARUH JARAK TANAM DAN PENYIANGAN GULMA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN UBI JALAR (Ipomoea batatas L.) VAR.CILEMBU
Cilembu sweet potato has a bright prospect because it is increasingly needed as consumption and industrial raw material. To increase production of this variety, a good plant spacing and weeding is needed. This resaech aimed to determine the effect of ideal plant spacing and weeding time on growth and yield of Cilembu sweet potato. The research was carried out on the land of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Borneo Tarakan from February to April 2019. The method used was randomized block design with 2 factors and 4 replications. The first factor was plant spacing which consisted of three treatments: J1 (20x30 cm), J2 (30x40 cm), and J3 (40x50 cm). the second factor was weeding which consisted of 4 replication: P0 (control or not weeded), P1 (1 time weeding at 15 DAP), P2 (2 times weeding at 15 and 30 DAP), P3 (3 times weeding at 15, 30 and 40 DAP). The result showed that plant spacing did not effect all growth parameters and sweet potato crop production. Whereas weed treatment gives a real influence on the growth of tendrils at 40 and 60 DHP, number of leaves at 40 DAP, stem diameter at 20 and 60 DAP. The intraction of plant spacing and weeding effects the trearment of 20x30 cm without weeding (P0J1) and the treatment of 40x50 cm with three times weeding (P3J3) on swet potato weight at 90 DAP. It is recommended to plant sweet potato ast a space of 20x30 cm without weeding (P0J1) and at 40x50 cm with three times weeding (P3J3).
