Ethnobotanical research aims to determine the types of plants used as medicine, the parts of the plants used, how to process and apply plants as traditional medicine, and their potential as a source of biological learning by the Toraja tribe in Sapan Kua-Kua Village, Buntao District, North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi Province using a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach with a focus on ethnobotanical studies. Research data was obtained by interviews, observation and documentation. Respondents to this research were traditional leaders, village midwives, elders, and individuals who knew more about the use of medicinal plants. The results showed that in the research there were 32 types of plants used as medicine by the Toraja tribe in Sapan Kua-Kua Village, these plants were dominated by the Zingiberaceae family. The parts of plants used as medicine are leaves, stems, roots, flowers, fruit, shoots, rhizomes and tubers. Plants used as medicine are processed by boiling, grating, filtering, burning, brewing, peeling, chewing, pounding, kneading, bruising and slicing. People apply these medicines by drinking, smearing, blowing, consuming directly and gargling. The results of this research can be used as a biology learning resource at the SMA/MA class X level, especially on biodiversity material. So the results of this research can be used to support biology learning which does not only focus on theory, but also provides learning experiences that are relevant to students' lives.

IDENTIFIKASI TUMBUHAN OBAT SUKU DAYAK KENYAH DI DESA PUNAN GONG SOLOK KABUPATEN MALINAU SEBAGAI PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SISWA SMA KELAS X BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL

2020•

Medicinal plants used by various tribes in Indonesia have provided information about the potential of Indonesia’s biodiversity. Dayak Kenyah is an example of the tribe. Identification of medicinal plant species and their benefits is an effort to preserve potential medicinal plants. This study aimed to identify the types of medicinal plants used by the Dayak Kenyah tribe in Punan Gong Solok Village, Malinau Regency and to find out the utilization of the plants in the preparation of Biology learning for tenth grade students. This was a survey research with a descriptive qualitative approach. This research found 60 types of medicinal plants used by the Dayak Kenyah tribe in Punan Gong Solok village. Those 60 species belonged to 37 families. Plant families commonly used were Zingiberaceae, Araceae and Aracaceae. The most widely used organ was the leaf. Based on the analysis of the 2013 curriculum, this study results could be included in the lesson topic of Kingdom Plantae. The Basic Competence 3.7 applies the principle of classification to classify plants into the division based on observations of plant morphology and metagenesis and link their role in the survival of life on earth. Basic competence 4.7 presents data on morphology and the role of plants in various aspects of life in the form of written reports.
