ESTIMASI NILAI JASA EKOSISTEM DAERAH ALIRAN SUNGAI (DAS) PAMUSIAN KOTA TARAKAN

2022•Skripsi, Thesis, Disertasi, dan Tugas Akhir

The Pamusian watershed has the potential to be polluted due to human activities along the riverbanks such as domestic, industrial waste and various activities from the Tenguyun Market. This activity causes the Pamusian watershed to experience a decrease in quality, this is based on the quality of the water quality status in the downstream watershed which is classified as polluted waters and can no longer be used as a source of water for cultivation activities. Disruption of the function of the watershed ecosystem will affect the quality and quantity of the Pamusian watershed ecosystem. The purpose of this study is to determine the community's assessment and community preferences for the existence and sustainability of the Pamusian watershed ecosystem, as well as to estimate the economic value of the benefits of goods and services through willingness to pay. The research method used is descriptive analysis and the Contingent Valuation Method approach to analyze the community's willingness to pay. The results showed that the community's assessment of the existence of the Pamusian watershed has changed including the water has been polluted by 44%, there has been a flood of 42%, and the loss of flora and fauna is 14%, the community's preference for the preservation of the Pamusian watershed is 98% of respondents agreeing to the effort improvement of the Pamusian watershed ecosystem. The estimation of the economic value of the Pamusian watershed ecosystem through the willingness to pay of the community, namely the total WTP Indirect Use Value (IUV) of IDR 5.4 billion per year and the WTP Existence Value (EV) of IDR 7.2 billion per year. This value describes the community's willingness to pay for efforts to maintain river environmental services, both indirect benefits and benefits from the existence of the Pamusian watershed ecosystem.
