Designing English for Tourism Book for Eleventh Grade Students of Travel Business at SMKN 1 Tarakan
This study aims to design English for Tourism Book with effective material and attractive design for Eleventh Grade Students of Travel Business Department at SMK N 1 Tarakan. This research and development adopt the process of material development proposed by Jolly and Bolitho, considered seven stages and modified into five steps: (1) Identifications, (2) Syllabus Development, (3) First Draft Production, (4) Material Evaluation, (5) Final Draft Production. The instruments used in this study consisted of observation, interview, questionnaire, and evaluation sheets. The evaluation result showed that the validation by English for Tourism Book material experts and media experts were 89 % and 98%, respectively, and both were valid qualifications. The research and development results of the English for Tourism Book were appropriate for use in learning English for eleventh-grade students at SMK N 1 Tarakan.
