ANALISIS TINGKAT KERUSAKAN GEDUNG PERPUSTAKAAN KOTA TARAKAN
The current condition of the Tarakan City Library Building requires repair and maintenance efforts due to the building’s age, which has reached over a decade consequently, it has experienced various forms of demage that have the potential to disrupt user comfort. Therefire, building maintenance and upkeep activities need to be carried out periodically to ensure that the building’s facilities and infrastructure continue to function optimally and provide a sense of safety and comfort for users. This study was conducted to determine the extent of demaga occurring at the Tarakan City Library building and to provide recommendations for repairing the identified damage. The method used in this study was a quantitative approach through direct field observations to identify the types of damage occurring in the building and to measure the dimensions of the damage. The results of the study indicated that the percentage of damage levels in the Tarakan City Library Building For Structural components reached 17.60%, non-structural components reachend 6.94%, and the total damage level for the building reached 12.27%, falling within the category of minor damage. Additionally, recommendations for repairing cracks in structural elements such as columns, beams, and walls that have sustained damage include using a mixture of conbextra GP cement and water. Furthermore, for wall finishing work, it is recommended to repaint using durable paint. Meanwhile, damage to non-structural components such as faucets, electrical installations, and door handles should be addressed by replacing these components with new ones to prevent further deterioration.
