ESTIMASI CADANGAN KARBON PADA TEGAKAN MANGROVE BERBASIS SPASIAL DI KAWASAN KONSERVASI MANGROVE DAN BEKANTAN (KKMB) KOTA TARAKAN

2025•Skripsi, Thesis, Disertasi, dan Tugas Akhir

Biomass and carbon stocks in the Mangrove and Bekantan Conservation Area (KKMB) in Tarakan have not been extensively studied, despite the area being known for its high important for carbon storage. To leverage unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, this study aimed to map the distribution of estimated biomass, carbon stock, and CO₂ absorption in mangrove categorized as trees within KKMB. The method employed in this study include high-resolution UAV imagery, field measurements to determine stem diameter, and vegetation analysis using the Normalised Difference Vegetation index (NDVI). Biomass estimates was calculated using an allometric approach, while carbon stock calculations were based on 47% of the total biomass. The study found that mangrove biomass estimates ranged from 7.57 to 75.28 tons per Hectare, with a carbon stock of 3.5 to 35.38 tons of Carbon per Hectare and a CO₂ uptake value of 0.013 to 0.12 tons per individual, indicating significant variation between mangrove zones. spatial mapping of the highest carbon distribution show a dense mangrove zone. The use of UAV technology combined with field data has proven effective for monitoring mangrove ecosystems with 85% accuracy. These findings supports the scientific basis for the sustainable management of KKMB and its role in mitigating climate change.
