The Effectiveness of Poster Media in Enhancing Reading Comprehension at X of SMA N 2 Tarakan
Posters are one of the learning media that can improve students' reading comprehension. This study aimed to determine how the effectiveness of posters as a learning media for improving students' reading comprehension. This research used quasi-experimental methods. The population of this research was all students at grade tenth of SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling with a sample of X-J and X-F students. The instrument was prepared by looking at the learning objective indicator (ATP) or syllabus and learning modules or lesson plans (RPP) for data collection. This research instrument included test sheets (pretest and final test). The results of this research showed that the experimental group and the control group differed significantly; it was evidenced by the results of the average score of students. The average results in the pretest and posttest (experiment class) were 64.80 and 87.54 and the average results in the pretest and posttest (control class) were 66.00 and 80.89. This showed that there was a significant difference between the use of posters as a learning media. The test results from independent sample tests showed that the t-test (4.257) was greater than the t-table (2.042). This research also found that after using posters as a learning media, there were some significant changes. Thus, it can be concluded that Poster as a learning media has been proven successful in enhancing the student English reading comprehension at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan
