Mangrove ecosystems play a vital role in sustaining life. These ecosystems are commonly found in most Indonesian archipelago coastal areas. Mangrove ecosystems provide habitats for various organisms to feed, breed, and spawn. This study aims to investigate the structure of the mangrove community on Malu Island in Bulungan Regency. Environmental factors influencing the area's distribution and diversity of mangroves include salinity levels of 20 ppt and a pH value of 6.12. Impact of traditional aquaculture activities on mangroves The method was the line transect method. A line transect was drawn along a 100-meter stretch at each station, and at each transect, a 10m x 10m plot was established. The mangrove species found at the study site included Nypa Fruticans, Sonneratia sp, and Rhizophora sp. The mangrove community structure included a mangrove diversity index of 0.314, an evenness index (E) of 0.285, and a dominance index (C) of 0.592.
