Abstrak
This research aimed to determine the perceptions of students in English education regarding vocabulary knowledge and how it influences their language development. The researcher employed qualitative descriptive method. This research was carried out at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Borneo Tarakan and 8 English Language Education students from the class of 2021 and 2022 were selected as the participants. The researcher applied interviews and questionnaires as the research instruments. Based on data analysis, the researcher discovered that participants absolutely agreed that vocabulary knowledge had such a significant influence on their language development. The researcher also found that vocabulary knowledge assisted students develop their four skills in English. Ultimately, the findings of this study are beneficial in identifying students' perceptions of vocabulary knowledge and how it influences their language development.
