COMPOSITION OF FISH TYPES AND SIZES CAUGHT USING GILL NET IN LANDED IN TARAKAN Abstract This study aims to determine the composition of the type and size of fish (length and weight) and the relationship between length and weight of fish caught with gillnets in the waters of Tarakan City, North Kalimantan. This study uses a purposive random sampling method, namely taking samples by taking into account considerations. The location of this research was carried out in the Selumit Pantai area, Central Tarakan District, Tarakan City, from December 2020 to January 2021. Based on the results of the study, the composition of the catch in the HTU (main catch) category was 113 fish arut and pleasure. Then by catch (by catch) on red fish and mackerel as many as 20 tails. The composition of the length and weight of the most dominant fish in the length of red fish ranged from 30.7-40.5 cm as many as 5 tails and 5 fish weight ranged from 530.7-888.4 g. The length of dominant fish and mackerel ranged from 45.7 to 46.9 cm as many as 3 tails and the weight ranged from 697-773 g as many as 3 tails. Dominant length and weight of happy fish are in the range of 55.2-61.1 cm as many as 7 tails and weight range from 1587,2-2109,0 g as many as 8 fish then arut panang fish and the most dominant weight ranges from 36.3-38.7 cm as many as 23 tails and 836.8-1000.7 grams as many as 24 tails. The results of the analysis of the relationship between length and weight based on the catch of red fish, happy fish and arut fish are allometric negative where the length increase is faster than the weight gain, while the mackerel catch is positive allometric which indicates that the weight gain is faster than the length increase.
