This study analyses students' speaking anxiety in English classes during the second semester at Borneo University Tarakan. The study examines the factors that influence students' speaking anxiety and strategies to overcome their anxiety based on the student's experiences. The study identified two factors contributing to language learning difficulties: internal factors such as shyness, lack of confidence, and fear of making mistakes; and external factors such as limited vocabulary and lack of peer interaction. This study presents two strategies (preparation and relaxation) to help students overcome speaking anxiety and improve their speaking performance. It is important to acknowledge that speaking anxiety can hinder students' ability to speak, and therefore, strategies are necessary to alleviate this issue.
