Abstrak
The purpose of this study was to determine the need of guidance and counseling service for the students of Teacher Training and Education Faculty in Guidance and Counseling Department. Guidance and counseling program in university is a service and support activity which designed for student self-development. The program is for the self-development of students as an individual that lives around a compatible, harmonious, and balanced society. The most important thing is when students are mature individuals in terms of academic achievement, personal-social development, and career. The study was a survey method to collect data in explaining a population. The instrument of the study was questionnaire. It is as the essential tool in collecting data. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling. The data collection technique used was questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study that obtained from the total data is at the medium category, in the overall analysis there are 33 subjects, with a percentage of 63.46%, compared to the high category, of 36.5%. This is supported by several indicators in the medium category, namely in the indicators of personal social counseling services and learning counseling services, there are the same results, namely 33 subjects, with a percentage of 63.46%, and in career counseling services, there are 46 subjects with a percentage of 88.46%. It means that the students of Guidance and Counseling Department do not fully understand the types of guidance and counseling services, especially for the students in 2020 academic year and in 2021 academic year.
