Abstrak
Tanah Kuning is a coastal area in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan which has quite a large fishery potential. One of the fishing types of equipment used by fisherman in Tanah Kuning village is the stationary lift nets (Bagan Tancap). It is a fishing trap for catching small pelagic fish. This tool has several factors that can affect the effectiveness of the stationary lift nets, one of which is the net soaking time during the operation. This study aimed to determine the effect of soaking time of stationary lift nets of the oceanic waters of Tanah Kuning village, Bulungan Regency. In this study, 3 types of net soaking treatments were used, namely, 3, 4, and 5 hurs of net soaking, each repeated 8 times. The data used in this study was evironmental parameter data in the waters around the sampling area and catch data (fish weight) for each main catch, bycatch, and waste catch. The result of the study concluded that the soaking time of the net did not significantly affect the catch on the stationary lift nets, but soaking for 4 hours resulted in the highest catch compared to 3 hours and 5 hours of soaking.
