EMPOWERMENT OF FARMER GROUP MEMBERS (CASE STUDY ON INDEPENDENT FLORA AND FAUNA FARMER GROUP IN JUATA PERMAI VILLAGE, NORTH TARAKAN DISTRICT) ABSTRACK Empowering farmers through the institutionalization of farming groups is one of the appropriate methods of community empowerment to enable them to improve their quality of life. The Independent Flora and Fauna Farming Group is focused on empowering the farmer community to increase overall agricultural productivity in both agricultural, livestock and fishery aspects. The existence of the Independent Flora and Fauna Farming Group is based on the common purpose of the farmers, the aspects of the farm and the aspect of their fisheries to meet the needs of daily life. The purpose of this research is to know the empowerment of members of independent flora and fauna farming groups and know the factors of supporting and inhibiting the empowerment of independent flora and fauna farming group members. This type of research uses qualitative and quantitative research methods with a scoring method with a likert scale and a respondent count of 14 people. Data collection techniques are carried out with several techniques namely observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study showed the process of empowering members of the farmer group based on indicator input that is categorized strongly agrees with the average score of 3.29 against the suitability of work equipment and the place that is adequate. In indicators the process is categorized strongly agreeing with the average score of 3.86 against excellent participation and structured group management. And in the output indicator that is categorized strongly agree with the average score of 3.88 against the increase in self-reliance that is already very good and also the level of income that supports the standard of living. Supporting factors in empowerment are support of insanity, motivation and capital, for inhibitory factors are diseases / pests and minimal knowledge.
