The Effect of Using Example Non Example to Students' Writing Skill Second Grade Students at SMPN 3 Tarakan
The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of using Example Non-Example to improve the writing ability of eight grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Tarakan. This research was in the form of an experiment research (Pre-experiment). Researchers look for differences in student achievement in class before and after being taught using Example Non-Example. The subjects of this study were students in class of 8-1 with total number of 32 students of SMP Negeri 3 Tarakan in academic year of 2021/2022. The instrument used was a written test which consisted of pre-test and post-test. In addition, the researcher used descriptive analysis to analyze the data and SPSS 24.0 for statistical analysis. The results showed that there was a difference in the average score between the pre-test and post-test. It was proven by the results of the students average score. Their scores were 69.61 in pre-test and 86.84 in post-test. The enhancement of student average was 17.23. It can be seen that the increase in the average score of students on the pro-test was higher than the pre-test. It indicated that there was a significant difference in the students' writing scores between the pre-test and post-test. The results of the paired sample test show that the t-test was 12,939 higher than the t-table (2,040). So that 12,393>2,040, so Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Then it can be concluded that Example Non-Example was proven to be effective in improving the writing ability on second grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Tarakan
