Keterbatasan akses terhadap pilihan konsumsi masyarakat di wilayah perbatasan: studi kasus desa Long Nawang

2026 · Book ·

The development of border areas is impeded by limited infrastructure and relatively remote geographical locations. These obstacles result in low levels of connectivity, limited access to basic services, and high costs of distributing goods and services, which ultimately slow down the socioeconomic progress of local communities. The purpose of the research was to analyze the limitations of access to consumption choices for communities in the border area of Long Nawang Village. The research used a quantitative approach through a survey method for primary data collection. This method involves the administration of questionnaires to local communities, who serve as the respondents. The results of the research showed that the limitation of access and infrastructure significantly influence people's choices and consumption patterns, particularly transportation and distribution networks, which determine how easy it is for people to obtain goods and services. Furthermore, the geographical location of a region, particularly its remoteness and inaccessibility, exerts a significant influence on consumer behavior, leading to a restriction in the available alternatives and an augmentation in the reliance on imported goods from foreign nations. Overall, this research showed that infrastructure development and the geographical location of the border area between Indonesia and Malaysia are important factors that influence people's consumption choices and local economic development.
